4. 자음 1 - Consonants 1
한국어의 자음은 모두 19개로 구성된다. 자음은 바름 기관의 모양을 본떠 만들었다. 'ㄱ'은 혀뿌리가 목구멍을 막는 모양을 번떴으며, 'ㄴ'는 혀가윗잇몸에 닿는 모양을 본떴다. 'ㅁ'은 입술의 모양을, 'ㅅ'은 이의 모양을, 그리고 'ㅇ' 목구멍의 모양을 본떠 만들었다.
The Korean language consists of 19 consonants. The consonants were modeled after the shapes of the vocal organs. 'ㄱ' is modeled after the shape of the tongue root blocking the throat, 'ㄴ' is modeled after the shape of the tongue touching the upper gums, 'ㅁ' is modeled after the shape of the lips, 'ㅅ' is modeled after the shape of the teeth, and 'ㅇ' is modeled after the shape of the throat.

앞에서 언급한 바와 같이 자음은 반드시 모음과 함께 쓴다. 자음은 세로모음의 왼쪽에, 가로모음의 위에 쓴다. 'ㅇ'은 모음 앞에 올 때는 음가가 없으며, 모음 뒤에 올 때는 [ieung]으로 바름된다.
As mentioned above, consonants are always written with vowels. Consonants are written to the left of vertical vowels and above horizontal vowels. 'ㅇ' has no phonetic value when it precedes a vowel, but is correctly pronounced [ieung] when it follows a vowel.
'ㄱ[k/g]'은 세로모음과 같이 쓸 때와 가로모음과 같이 쓸 때의 글자 모양이 다르다.
The shape of the letter 'ㄱ[k/g]' is different when it is used with a vertical vowel and when it is used with a horizontal vowel.

5. 마음 2 - Consonant 2
'ㅋ, ㅌ, ㅍ, ㅊ'는 'ㄱ, ㄷ, ㅂ, ㅈ'에 획을 하나 더하여 만든 글자이다. 'ㅋ, ㅌ, ㅍ, ㅊ'는 공기의 세기가 강한 자음 이므로 입안의 공기를 매우 세게 밖으로 내보내며 바름한다.
'ㅋ, ㅌ, ㅍ, ㅊ' are letters created by adding one stroke to 'ㄱ, ㄷ, ㅂ, ㅈ'. 'ㅋ, ㅌ, ㅍ, ㅊ' are consonants that require strong air force, so pronounce them by expelling the air in your mouth very forcefully.

쓰는 순서에 주의한다. Be careful about the order in which you write.
자음과 모음을 합하여 글자를 쓸 때, 자음은 세로모음의 왼쪽에, 그러므음의 위에 적는다.
When writing a letter by combining consonants and vowels, the consonant is written to the left of the vertical vowel and above the consonant.
'ㄲ[kk]'은 세로모음과 같이 쓸 때와 가로모음과 같이 쓸 때의 글자 모양이 다르다.
The shape of the letter 'ㄲ[kk]' is different when it is used with a vertical vowel and when it is used with a horizontal vowel.
