(으)십시오 Formal Sentence Ending

(으)십시오 is the ending of a command sentence in a formal and polite form.

✓ If the verb ends in a vowel,  we use: 십시오

 ✓ If the verb ends in a consonant, we use: 으십시오

 ✓ The law of ㄹ Irregular (ㄹ 불규칙) applies, where:

 ㄹ + 으 = ㄹ and 으 are omitted

 만들다 = Make

 만들 + 으십시오 = 만드십시오

 Example:

•  앉으십시오! = Sit down! 
• 병원에 가십시오! = Go to the hospital!
• 잠깐만 기다리십시오! = Wait a minute! 
• 이 잭을 읽으십시오! = Read this book! 
• 이것은 받으십시오! = Please accept this! 
• 물을 주십시오! = Flush! 
• 이러나십시오! = Wake up!
